Processing waste cables today represents not only an environmental opportunity, but also an economic one. Efficient separation of the metal core from the plastic insulation is essential for achieving high material value. The BONANZA processing line by CASTULIK is designed precisely for this purpose – with a focus on separation purity, reliability, and industrial‑grade robustness.
What is BONANZA and what is it used for
BONANZA is a complex technological line designed for:
- separation of copper or aluminium from electrical cables
- processing of different types of wires (thin, thick, multi-core)
- increasing the value of waste by converting it into clean secondary raw materials
The core of the system is a combination of mechanical shredding followed by density-based separation using a wet sluice, which enables highly precise material separation.
How the BONANZA processing line works
1. Material shredding
Cables are fed into a knife mill (granulator), where they are shredded into a fine fraction.
2. Material transport
The material is transported to the cyclone using a fan and a ducting system.
3. Separation in the cyclone
The cyclone separates air from the solid fraction and stabilises the material flow entering the separation stage.
4. Wet separation table
The key part of the technology:
- separation takes place based on the different densities of the materials
- the metal (copper/aluminium) rises in the direction of the table’s vibration, while the plastic is carried away in the opposite direction
- adjustable parameters: table inclination, vibration intensity, water flow rate
5. Closed water circuit
The water circulates within the system, providing:
- filtration
- sedimentation of impurities
- minimal water consumption
Main advantages of the BONANZA solution
High output purity
The separation process achieves very high efficiency – resulting in clean metal suitable for direct sale.
Compact solution
The entire line is fully integrated and controlled from a single control panel.
Energy efficiency
Optimised power consumption relative to performance.
Industrial-grade robustness
Designed for long‑term, continuous operation without compromise.
Modularity and expandability
Option to add a pre‑shredding stage (e.g., the CASTOR single‑shaft shredder) to increase capacity.
Technical variants of BONANZA
BONANZA 200
- mill inlet: 300 × 400 mm
- mill power input: 15 kW
- total power input: 20 kW
- capacity: up to 250 kg/h
- weight: approx. 1300 kg
BONANZA 400
- mill inlet: 400 × 600 mm
- mill power input: 30 kW
- total power input: 35 kW
- capacity: up to 400 kg/h
- weight: approx. 2530 kg
Who is BONANZA designed for?
The technology is suitable for:
- collection yards and recycling centres
- WEEE (electronic-waste) processors
- metal-buying and scrap-trading companies
- manufacturing companies generating cable waste
Why invest in cable processing
Without processing, cables have a low purchase value. After separation, you:
- obtain pure copper or aluminium
- dramatically increase the value of the material
- reduce the volume of waste
- meet environmental requirements
BONANZA as part of a complete solution
CASTULIK does not view BONANZA as a standalone product, but as part of a comprehensive processing solution, including:
- design of the entire processing technology
- integration into an existing operation
- optimisation of material flow
- technical consulting
